Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

Well, we're back from Thee Land of Fruits and Nuts, which means it's time for a little introspection . . . every time we go back to the Bay Area, there comes a point, usually about 2 days into our visit, in which Dr. J and I start to become tempted to move back to the Silicon Valley. We start weighing the pros and cons aloud, and begin to wonder if we should give Kal-ee-forn-yah Life one more try:

What We Miss About Kal-ee-forn-yah:

(1) Cheap and delicious fruit and veggies
(2) Sunny, warm days with lower humidity than back east
(3) Amazing hiking opportunities
(4) The plethora of delicious restaurants all over the state
(5) Trying ethnic food with Jen & Randy
(6) Cost Plus Imports
(7) Making a shitload of more money
(8) The very cool job Ms. J had -- and the even cooler things we got to attend as a result
(9) Low-cost Vietnamese dry cleaners
(10) Proximity to amazing patriots like Adrian & Noah, and Jay & Kerry
(11) Being able to walk all over the place

What We DON'T Miss About Thee Land of Fruits & Nuts:

(1) Hearing a tuba play all frickin' day
(2) The whole GayPride/Lesbo/Trannie-thing -- ENOUGH ALREADY!
(3) Extremely high cost of housing
(4) Public schools in which English IS the second language
(5) The town of Hollister -- piss on 'em all!
(6) DWO -- driving while oriental
(7) BWH -- biking while hispanic
(8) Living in the United Nations of Apartment Buildings, a.k.a. "The Bodega"
(9) The Cowboy who used to climb into our trash dumpter promptly at 5:15 a.m. every day, followed by the cast of other daily dumpster divers
(10) America-hating freaks
(11) The 24-hour car wash just steps away from our apartment
